Hi,

My name is Janie Gration,

I was born in 1987 in Wollongong Australia to wonderful Portuguese parents from Madeira. I have 2 younger brothers and I lived in Wollongong for 21 years until I married the love of my life Jason Gration in 2008.

I grew up in church. Church has been my life, if something was on I was there. I have served in lots of different ministries, from Sunday School teacher, Music Ministry, Youth Committees, Youth Leader, Missions Director, Mission trips, to now serving as a Pastor wife at HopeDivine in Cairns.

Alongside my husband, I served under the program AIM from United Pentecostal Church International in Vanuatu, in year 2014. I served as part of the Administration team of the Bible School, also taught in the Bible School and was the Youth Leader of one of the churches there. That year was tough, being away from family and friends but it was also a rewarding year, my experiences there have shaped a burden for me to reach people about the gospel.

It was in Vanuatu that I became pregnant which was a huge surprise considering the doctors told me in 2012 that I had a very slim chance of having a baby but God said otherwise. Jonathan which means “Yahweh has given” is our miracle child, in more ways than one. We came back to Australia to have Jonathan who was due in February 2015 but decided to arrive 2 weeks early in January.

We were planning on going back to Vanuatu, however, God kept shutting the door, we tried every angle we thought possible but the answer was no. Another door opened though and that was to be the Pastors at HopeDivine Cairns. We have been in Cairns for 5 years now; Jonathan was only 9 months when we moved here so he is a Cairns boy through and through.

I am a woman of many talents (in other words, a mummy), a homemaker, and a Pastor’s wife. I love coffee, photography, crafts, crochet, playing the piano, writing Haikus and cooking especially baking and lots more!
